“Weary” — meaning debated

From the Hebrew Le’ah (לֵאָה). Strong’s lexicon links it to la’ah, “to be weary”; another proposal, from Akkadian, is “wild cow”. The meaning is uncertain.

Who was Leah in the Bible?

Leah was Laban’s elder daughter, given to Jacob in Rachel’s place. Less loved, she was seen by God: she bore six sons, among them Levi and Judah — from Levi came the priests; from Judah, King David and Jesus.
