Prayer for my children
Praying for your children means handing to God those you love most and admitting you do not control everything. The Bible calls children a gift from the Lord and speaks of parents who teach the faith in everyday life. Below is a prayer for your children and verses to pray over them.
Father, I entrust my children to you. Before they are mine, they are yours — you formed them and you know each one by name.
Keep them wherever they go: at school, in their friendships, on the street and in what they see on screens. Deliver them from evil and from bad company.
Give them hearts that know you early, wisdom for their choices and courage to do what is right when it is hard.
Teach me to be a picture of your love to them: patient to listen, firm to correct and quick to forgive.
May they grow in wisdom and in grace, before you and before people. In Jesus’ name, amen.
