Prayer for a job
Looking for a job affects your income, your self-worth and your faith. The Bible does not promise shortcuts, but it promises care: God knows what we need before we ask. Below is a prayer for anyone looking for work and verses to pray while you wait.
Lord, you know my need before I say a word. I am looking for work, and sometimes fear and discouragement speak louder.
Open the right doors and close the ones that are not for me. Give me favour in interviews, clarity when I speak and wisdom to decide.
While the answer has not come, provide for my home and guard my heart from anxiety. Remind me that my worth is not in the job I have, but in being your child.
When the work comes, let me do it with dedication, as someone who serves you.
I trust your timing. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Matthew 6:31-33
Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. Jesus does not ignore material needs: he says the Father knows them.
Psalms 37:5
